A brief history
The club has been around a long time,
since 1981, when it was started with six members, most of whom were new to
diving. Since then it has grown its membership to over 60, including
fourteen qualified instructors. We have moved on from an original
'squidgy' inflatable to two 6 metre RIBs, a compressor and Nitrox blending
facility, and our own boat shed. From its first overseas trip to the
Red Sea in 1989 (camping on the beach) the trips have expanded to include
southern Red Sea, Maldives and the Caribbean, and much closer to home,
Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Malta.
We also have an active social
programme, including family-orientated events, and a junior snorkelling club.
